KAMPOT

Kampot is a typical small colonial country town of about 40,000 people, located about two hours from the capital, near the Vietnamese border. It’s a great way to see the real Cambodia.

Situated on the banks of the beautiful Teuk Chhouu River estuary, it has a stirring history.
During the Indochina War, Vietnam obstructed the shipping traffic, stifling supplies throughout
Cambodia. After the war, the river was not deep enough for modern ships and thus Kampot lost its
value.

It was then directly involved in the liberation of Cambodia from the Khmer Rouge by the Vietnamese. But life in the city has never stopped and now it proudly offers many of Cambodia’s tourist highlights.

Like the world renowned Kampot Pepper Plantations, Salt Fields, Bokor National Park, and the abandoned haunted house atmosphere of Bokor Hill Station.
